In the beginning I thought you should get an abortion because you’re way to young to become a mother and take up all that responsibility. You have your whole life ahead of you. Also I understand what you must of felt like when you walked into the clinic. I’ve changed my mind though, I do believe that you made a smart decision in having the baby and giving it to someone who is ultimately ready to be a mother and wants to have a baby. I think you made a very brave and bold decision in having the baby. I give you so much props in doing so. If I was in your position, I would be so scared and I wouldn’t know what to do. Also I think that you learned a lot about relationships in the process. That’s all about growing up, I’m very glad that you and Bleeker worked things out in the end and also very happy that you decided to stick with Vanessa and that she now has a baby son that she can love unconditionally.
On the topic of Roe v. Wade, I do believe that women should have the right to chose whether or not to have the baby or not. Every woman deserves to have a choice on what they should do because it’s their body. Roe v. Wade is a right that was given to us women, to have that right taken away from us will be so devastating. I know a couple girls my age who are teen moms and have had abortion. It was their decision whether to keep the baby or not. I don’t think anyone should tell you what to do because they are not the ones that are actually going through this. It honestly is up to the woman who is pregnant and maybe the father if he is there to support. We have worked so hard to gain woman’s rights in this country. If the really do take away Roe v. Wade then we achieved all that hard work for nothing.
As a teenager, Planned Parenthood is a huge safe haven for not only me but, so many other girls my age and or younger. Planned Parenthood allows us to go there and not feel ashamed about ourselves and allows us to go ask questions that were not comfortable asking our parents. I allows us to go for help when we don’t know who to go to. It allows young girls who are sexually active to practice safe sex and use birth control and condoms. Also if woman decides to have an abortion then after she learns from her mistake and learns to practice safe sex and to get birth control. In conclusion, I support Roe v. Wade till I die because I know if I was in the position of being pregnant as a teenager I wouldn’t want to be forced to have a baby and have to do a back alley abortion. I would want to be able to use my own voice and make my own decision.
